iFoodie turns Taiwan’s rich, fragmented food knowledge into dependable discovery. Every restaurant begins with someone who actually went, ate, photographed, and wrote about it.
Finding somewhere good should not require opening twenty tabs.
iFoodie began in 2013 with a familiar frustration: food writing was abundant, but scattered across blogs and difficult to connect to a place nearby. The founding team used mobile location to bring those first-hand stories onto one useful map.
The principle has stayed intact as the product has grown. Restaurants enter the collection through real, published visits. Ratings, popularity, article depth, and transparent AI-assisted summaries then help people understand the evidence without replacing it.

Inside the productReal product interface
From a city of possibilities to one confident choice.
The product follows the way a meal decision actually forms: orient on a map, inspect one restaurant in depth, then return to the stories that created the evidence.
Map and list are two views of the same decision. People can see where restaurants sit, compare nearby options, and keep the practical filters that matter close at hand.

Decision
See the practical answer and the appetite together.
A restaurant page joins the details needed to act with the images and first-hand stories needed to care. Ratings, spend, hours, location, dishes, and source writing remain part of one continuous view.

Editorial
Let first-hand stories lead discovery.
The food column keeps discovery human. Interviews, reporting, and editorial selections create new reasons to explore—and every story can lead back into useful restaurant records and nearby alternatives.

Useful by design. Specific by choice.
Built around the real operating conditions of the people it serves.
01
First-hand by default
Every listed restaurant is backed by a food writer’s real visit and published story.
02
Place-aware discovery
Location, cuisine, occasion, ratings, and editorial context make a practical decision easier.
03
AI with visible foundations
AI selects representative images and summarizes source material; it does not invent the underlying experience.
How we think about itTsunamiWorks
Use AI to organize evidence, not manufacture it.
The useful role for AI is compression: identifying representative images, recurring dishes, useful details, and common questions across first-hand articles. The source remains human experience, and readers can return to it.
